All qualified people wishing to become an examiner must file this application. The West African Examinations Council invites the candidates for such position to monitor the examinations they hold. The Council has some requirements to the candidates. All examiners must be qualified in the Basic Education Certificate Examination, the Advanced Business Certificate Examination, the West African Senior School Certificate Examination and the General Business Certificate Examination.

Additionally, the examiners must specialize in the following subjects and areas: Integrated Studies, English Language, Religious and Moral Education, Mathematics, Social Studies, Literature, General Agriculture, Marketing, Office Administration, Biology, Financial Accounting and many others. The qualification depends on the examination the candidate will be appointed to.

What is the Application for Appointment as Assistant Examiner for?

The purpose of this application is to find a perfect candidate for the position of the examination assistant. However, there is the minimum qualifications the applicant must have to be appointed: Post-Secondary Teacher’s Certificate with at least 5 years of experience, degrees in the areas received in the recognizable educational institutions and at least 3-year experience in the specialized subjects.

When is the Application for Appointment as Assistant Examiner Due?

All applications must be sent by 31st January. The applications sent after this due date will not be considered for the current examination period.

Is the Application for Appointment as Assistant Examiner Accompanied by Other Forms?

This application must be filed along with the copies of the educational and qualification certificates.

How should I Fill in the Application for Appointment as Assistant Examiner?

The application consists of two sections: A and B. Section A must be filled in by applicants. Section B is devoted to the head of institution of the applicant. In the first section you must provide the following information: full name, nationality, date of birth, telephone number, present school or institution, present rank, examination name, subject you want to examine, academic qualifications, technical experience, non-teaching and other experience, examining experience. There are generally 16 prompts. The last line is aimed at the applicant’s signature and the date of filing. Do not complete Section B as it must be filled by the head of institution.
